mc donald's

I loved the scene where he went to Mc Donald's and bought a whole meal for 67 cents! That's how Mc Donald's was when I was a kid. Actually getting to sit in a dining room for the first time was a big moment.

Could you also say how you wanted your burger cooked? When Nancy's date asked her and I went O.O

My first job was at Burger Chef in 1972. It used to drive us crazy getting orders done just how each person wanted! "Have it your way" was one chain's claim, but, as far as I remember, ALL fast-food places tried to do that. Once, we had a busful of Boy Scouts that made some of us want to quit on the spot! I always felt sorry for the ones on grill duty. (As I recall, I made about $1.35 an hour, which was a truly decent wage because I made a good start on my back-to-college fund.)

Finally, they came to their senses and went with "done" burgers with whatever is supposed to top them.

I swear those McDonalds' commercials advertising "change back from your dollar" (when you order burger, fries and Coke) seem like they were running yesterday.

Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' badgers! But if you could show us something in a nice possum...

I always thought McDs were better before they went to the dining area concept

Ah the good old days. Hamburgers were 15 cents and fries 10 cents. A carton of milk at school was 2 cents, 3 cents for chocolate.

This just aired on TCM and as we were watching it and when the McDonald's scene came on everyone in the room said almost at the same time "What, $.67 cents?!?!" Living proof that life used to be different.

Made me remember that when I was a kid in the mid 70's my favorite meal at McDonalds was a filet-o-fish, fries & a drink. I remember it cost $2.01. The amount stuck with me because years later I went there again and the fish sandwich alone was $2.00. Weird memory but it stuck with me.

I went to MacDonald's one time, about 1965. Got a hamburger for 25 cents. The price was appropriate, because the meat patty was about the size of a quarter. I haven't been back to MacDonald's since.
