Dumb

I mean this should have been a great film. A great director, great actors, and a WW2 subject. However the script was just dumb, and somehow the whole thing is mediocre at best. The director made some other excellent films like Flight of the Phoenix, and the actors went on to 100s of classics; this is at the bottom of my list.

Even though it was wildly successful at the box office. Anyone else agree?

This movie wasn't made for the connoisseur. It was made for your average working blue collar man who loves tough guys and football.

Your right, it could have been better. But I think the producers, directors, writers where hyper focused on pleasing the 🍺 drinking "real man" type.

The average blue collar man does not commit violent crimes worthy of the death penalty. I do not understand why people identify with this film.

A good deal of men who grew up loving John Wayne did. It's success at the box office proved the producers right.

A film filed under "Toxic masculinity" by today's Hollywood. Would not be made today.

I disagree. The film would appeal to those on the left who think criminals are regular people who were just effected by their environment. For political correctness purposes 7 of the 12 would have to be something other than white.

Look at the longest yard. The good guys are the felons and the evil ones are the correction officers. Libtards would love that shit.

The Dirty Dozen is currently the #7 most popular film of 1967. It made 45m in Box Office, finishing #6 for the year.

reply

Sorry but I disagree. This was a great film and almost all the actors in it went on to A-list careers.

reply

Nope. It has it's flaws but I've always enjoyed it.

reply

Yes, I agree. You are dumb.
