Gott vergibt - Django nie!
While typing here, the ARD (1st German Public Television) airs this movie right now... (01:45 in the morning)
I finally understand why this movie differs from the version I've seen as a young boy: It's so fuXXing brutal you wouldn't believe it!
When going through the different titles and the ratings, I can only say that despite the (literally translated title) "God is forgiving - Django never!" (whereas Terence Hill is supposedly "Django" and not "Cat Stevens" as in the credits...) this is one of the best examples if not the lone example of how a translation can make a whole difference...
Bud Spencer & Terence Hill starred in a lot of comedies after this movie, which started their "odd couple" appearences - but only after having watched THIS version in comparison to the COMEDY translation from my childhood I can finally appreciate another "Spagetti-Western" and might go as far as to call it a classic!
