Song to Brainguy

In one of the MST3K sketches in this one, Bobo and Pearl try to get Observer to stay on Earth, and not destroy it. They do so by singing a kicky little song pointing out the good things here. It is reminiscient of something by Gilbert and Sullivan, but I can't place it. Any operetta fans have any idea about origins?
