Availability of The Deadly Affair on VHS or DVD

I viewed this movie approximately one year ago, on Turner Classic Movies to the best of my recollection. This is a very good, but not spectacular, cold war espionage film. I would appreciate any informatiom regarding the availability of VHS or DVD copies of this movie. M.W.

it was certainly on VHS but not on dvd presently. I personally think that this film is a masterpiece and compares with the ipcress file.

The Deadly Affair has just been released in the UK by Sony (Region 2). There are no extras but it looks to be an excellent print. I love this film, especially the performances of James Mason and Simone Signoret.

Yup, it's out on region 2 DVD now, no extras (not even scene selection!) but it's an excellent print with crystalsharp picture and crisp stereo sound.

Seven years on after the original posting, the DVD version of The Deadly Affair is available at Amazon new @ £4 and about half this for a used copy. This is a very worthwhile production despite what other posters say. Perhaps we have become so used to the Alec Guinness version that we fail to appreciate an earlier interpretation?
