Date change

Originally, this movie was supposed to take place in the then-near future of 1972. Immediately following the opening credits, there was a shot of a sign saying "Let Us Plan Your 1972 Holidays." At some point, presumably for the home video release, a new shot was edited in with the date on the sign changed to 2013. (Note that the location and the costumes look completely different from the scene that follows.)

Everybody knows the picture was made in 1967, so why "update" the time frame? It just seems stupid.

"All the universe or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?"

It doesn't matter. Here it is 2013 and still people don't dance like that or wear outfits like Candice Bergen. However, if you look like Candice life should be easier for you no matter the time period.

Yes, Candice Bergen was fantastically gorgeous back then, even if she hadn't quite learned to act yet. Her voice sounded a bit strange -- I wonder if she was dubbed. Maybe her father was doing the talking and pulling a string to make her mouth move.

If they dubbed her voice, SHE spoke the words. No doubt about it.

There are moments when her dialogue sounds dubbed (sounds like the microphone was in a bucket) but it's her voice.

I appeared in the movie as a tourist and I know Candice spoke her own lines. I had some amazing slides of her in that white costume (I got so carried away for one that I clicked the shutter before the director shouted "cut" and earned a kick in the behind from Walter Lasserly, the cameraman!), but, alas they're all turned to shmutz!
