for a long while this was the only charles chaplin movie i had seen, and of course he doesn't even star in it and only plays a very small if not to say a cameo part, but i knew he was the director and the movie receiving very poor reviews, personally i only came across it because sophia loren starred in it, i probably was a teenage boob at the time and couldn't judge if a movie was that good or not, but even for me it didn't work because i thought sophia loren looked plainer and not as gorgeous as in other movies, it is a wide combination, the hairstyle, the make-up, and she spends much of the movie in baggy clownish clothes. she looks hot on the poster / cover featured here though. chaplin known along with buster keaton as the silent movie comedy stars, remarkably this even colour flick was the only one i had seen of this movie legend, but just recently i saw chaplin's "limelight" which many seem to think would have been a more appropriate ending to his career, i think that was the one he had buster keaton in a role as well, but the one of his flicks i really enjoyed even more which i also recently saw was "the great dictator", it was surprising how well the comedy had aged and he deliver such a great speech by the end, i have yet to see any of his silent flicks though caught a keaton, funny thing, buster keaton stars in an episode of the tv series the twilight zone and remains silent, and can you believe they managed to adapt that episode to audio only on the twilight zone radio dramas.
