Who designed those shipboard sets?

Did they ever examine pictures of shipboard cabins? Brando's stateroom was HUGE. I looked on the SS Queen Mary site - even the best suites there weren't that big.

Yeah, it looked like in a giant shopping mall. But I liked it the giant way it looked.

I didn't pick up on the size of the cabins. But the so visible back projection in the beach scene helped to spoil this movie.
