Uncut/strong version?

Where is the uncut/strong version of this... does anybody know? All I see on eBay are DVDRs that seem to be either of TV broadcasts or taken from the Australian release - which was the tame version.

Some eBay sellers sell the strong version, but only in French. Am I ever going to get a copy of this in English? I'd really like to know how much of a difference it makes to see the long version of the first murder.

Of course if anyone would release a proper DVD of this I'd get it...Peter Cushing's name surely must still count for something?

there is an uncut vhs available from midnight video www.midnight1.com...it contains slightly more gore and nudity

it would be nice of them to do a DVD copy too - I can't play NTSC videos where I live :o(

hmmm...that is a dilemma...tell you what, i'll look around for any PAL uncut copies of this film and if i spot anything i'll let you know...im always happy to oblige another horror fan...

The only hard version is LASER KILLER. This was a French VHS ( SeCam ) from the late 80's that presented the film in English and with French subtitles. So thats the only way to see the extra scenes. Midnight and the Ebay sellers all have the same print, although quality surely varies, with Midnight's likely near the top.

Hi,
I have the uncut 'Laser Killer' transferred to DVD if you still want it. Contact me at [email protected]

Regarding that alternate Laser Killer, any chance someone could YouTube that scene of Cushing wrestling with the topless actress? For purely scholarly film comparison of course.

reply

The bootleg copy called "Laser Killer" is uncut but the quality is really bad...Basically, you're paying just to see it uncut.

Yay! Finally managed to see the uncut version.

The alternative prostitute murder is quite graphic - I was surprised at the difference. The murder on the train is also extended - the UK version I also have cuts this short, ending just as Cushing is about to start decapitating the woman - the long version shows him putting the head in a bag and stuffing her body under the seat.

However the picture quality of the French version is appalling - anyone thinking of buying this bootleg needs to know its going to be a prettyy blurry video conversion.

I know it's not great cinema but the film certainly has a sleazy charm - and it's Peter Cushing! I really wish someone would properly release the long version on DVD
