Does anyone know whether The Comedians is due for a DVD release any time in the near future?

Apparently this title isto be included in a much anticipated box-set (check also http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000072/board/thread/39977112). But as yet (060804) no specific release date is set. And if it is released, I want the full monty of extra features, commentaries and a labour-of-love restored transfer of the old prints. Let´s keep our fingers crossed.

Since box-sets are fashionable these days, expect to see one with the duo
taylor/burton from warners with films like THE V.I.P'S , THE SANDPIPER ,
THE COMEDIANS plus special edition for WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF?.
Warner bros already announced box-sets for marlon brando (REFLECTIONS
IN A GOLDEN EYE is included) plus for paul newman and gary cooper ,due
out in november 2006.

I'm watching it on DVD now, but it could be a european release only.
Sound is horrible for some parts (especially Burton's mono/dialogues)

Any ideas where I can buy this DVD version, without buying the box set?

I wouldn't mind owning this on DVD either. That boxset is not available on region 2 DVD sadly.

It is now available from Netflix either Instant or DVD.

The Comedians is unavailable to stream on Netflix. This title is available on Netflix DVD only.
