Underrated Burton-Taylor Flick

This movie has generally never gotten very good reviews. I'm not sure why. This is an all star cast which is in top form. The subject matter is interesting and the direction and cinematography first rate. My only objection was the nature of the relationship between Burton' character and the head of police. Burton's character would never have been able to get away with being as sarcastic and dismissive of someone in this position in a regime with so little value for human life. I still find this to be one of my favorite Liz & dick flicks.
