Make it stop!

Poor Joseph Cotten. Such a wonderful actor sucked into this steaming pile of Horse *beep* I have seen a LOT of horrendous films, but geez!

So many great and not so great actors took movie gigs overseas so they could keep working and making a few more $, but wow, this film is a stinker.

It's so bad it's laughable. Yes, it was late at night and I was bored and watched it anyway. From the first 10 minutes or so, you know it's a bomb, but it's such a train wreck, you almost have to watch. And yes it's Captain Kirk on a horse. The film was shot during a break between seasons of Star Trek, circa after the first season, which ran from 1966-1967.

Does it even need to be said the Shatner has taken nearly every job offered to him? Oi Vey, Cap'n. Kirk! He mentions in his book about his life and career that he was so poor after Star Trek was canceled that he drove across the country in a camper with his dog, going from dinner theater to summer stock theater to bad movies like this one. This one is one of many stinkers in his 'illustrious' film, stage and TV career. I saw him do the play 'Deathtrap' here in Denver at the famous Elitch Gardens theater in the late 70's. The two male lead characters end up being gay, but it was written in the local press that Bill refused to kiss another man on stage, which is in the original script and in the Michael Caine/Christopher Reeve movie version. Perhaps Bill was trying to maintain his Hetero, muy macho TV and movie image. God forbid he kiss another man!

This film should have been used on 'MST 3k'.
Cheese Factor 8, Scotty!

I have a feeling that they thought they were making a blockbuster hot as they were filming. Frankly, I expected a lot less, but my wife and I watched this movie a as comedy, not a western... and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Smoke me a kipper. I’ll be back for breakfast
