Shatner is superb in this

In a showy dual role that would've spelled Oscar bait in a weaker film year. The movie's themes seem more relevant than ever. It's too bad the genre inspires so much derision. It's unfair that the limitations of a foreign shoot and popular dismissal of Shatner's acting prowess should be used to label this a bad film.

I agree. Shatner was great... Patrick Swayze could not have done better.

The entire production was dragged through the mud not because of Shat's performance, but because of the criminally incompetant, relentlessly obtrusive musical score.

reply

Shatner does just fine as Johnny Moon...but he's so over the top as Notah that this film couldn't do for him what FISTFUL OF DOLLARS did for Clint Eastwood.

reply

His performance may be the best thing of this mediocre film.
