High hopes

It really sounds like the hate-it or luv-it "Confidence" number with the kids was inspired by the more successful "High Hopes", sung by Sinatra in Hole in the Head.
Both the melody and the you-can-do-it message are similar.
Personally, I hated those scenes with kids the Colonel and producers stuck into movies like Clambake and Happened at the World's Fair.

Maybe they were trying to create some Elvis appeal with younger audiences? I noticed right away the similarity to "High Hopes". It was really embarrassing.
