Early in the movie, when Our Hero is on the boat between L. A. and Catalina, there are several riffs about him joining "The Forum." And then later "We're done with The Forum. We're Druids now." I've heard of The Druids, but what da heck is The Forum? Some sort of 60's California Goofiness? Someone who was only eight in 1970 would like to know . . .

They might be talking about the LA Forum

They're referencing the "Landmark Forum," a kind of self-empowerment psychotherapy cult that was very popular in the '90s. When they wrote this episode, it seemed like every young, white person in California was "joining the Forum."
