Anyone else been to Catalina Island?

My family and I went this summer, and the entire time, I was looking around for references to this film. Though much has changed in the 40 years since this was made.

Supposedly, the sailing ship that takes our characters to Catalina was taken out of service a few years after the film. Even the pier they come in on is no more.

Yes i believe the two ships that once served as shuttles were both lost.

I was on Cat Island this week and not much has survived from our beloved film.

Caught the end of this movie on TCM and instantly recognized Catalina, even though a few things are different now. Wish I could get to see the whole movie. 

 I'm very good at nookying and crannying. 
