Dvd coming from ''Screen Archives Entertainment''

''House Of 1,000 Dolls'' will be released in December from ''Screen Archives Entertainment''. It will be in Widescreen (Techniscope), and if it's as good as their previous releases, (very good, indeed) the print should be a great improvement on the old pan and scan one used for the HBO vhs version from the early 90's.

If the release date holds, it will be out December 20th, 2011.

The only thing I remember about this movie is that the TV news made note of its premier in Los Angeles, maybe because of Vincent Price and Martha Hyer.

Now if only someone will release The Million Eyes of Su-Muru... Shirley Eaton, mmmmm...

Just received my copy today-it appears to be the International cut (approximately 95 minutes, at least 17 minutes longer than the American version) and it's Anamorphic Widescreen for the first time. The old HBO videotape was fullscreen, and just watchable. Haven't seen it all yet, but I hope it includes more scenes with Martha Hyer. She is the draw here for me. I am waiting for ''Su-Muru'' as well-since it WAS this film's co-feature (at most theaters) when it was originally released. In New York, it played on the bottom half of a double- bill with ''MARYJANE''.

I look forward to hopefully receiving this disc next week. I never saw the film theatrically, although I remember when it opened. I did see MILLION EYES OF SU-MURU theatrically. Regarding DOLLS, I've only seen the CBS Late Nite TV version and the old HBO VHS, so it will be great to see a longer version in widescreen.

This is the longer version (95 min). Print is Widescreen, and in good shape, but the color has faded a bit. It's still a welcome release. I'm glad I bought it.Anybody looking for the supposedly racy footage Price once mentioned, won't find it here, though.
