Dom DeLuise knifed in the back?

I think I remember watching this film in a drive in when I was about 9 years old.If I remember correctly there was a scene of Dom DeLuise cooking something at a BBQ. The part that really stands out in my memory was watching a knife sticking out of his back.How many death scenes can there be of a bald fat man with a knife sticking out of his back?I could swear it was him. I think this is the film I saw.
