Ending was a bit random to me...
Great movie, I understand why they did during that time (Vietnam War). But I don't know, it might have been better to end it with them going in to the hotel room as friends.

You are right but sadly that would be the perfect sugar-coated ending for someone who actually buys into a conformist bourgeois lifestyle; in these cynical times I suspect a lot of filmgoers do, even if they declare the contrary.
shareChuncho despite being given the option to start over as a rich man kills nino. It appears he didnt care for the money but only wanted revenge so badly for the revolutionary cause. I personally would of took the money.
