Worst movie ever

Hard to believe there could be anything worse than the first Billy Jack movie, but this one is just horrid. The director should have been boiled in oil.

reply

eeeh it's good for a laugh though.

reply

Billy Jack (Tom Laughlin) directed it.

I watched this as a new movie, and must have watched it several times...or else paid very close attention, because I just saw it again today, about 45 years later and loved it. I was surprised Elizabeth James never went anywhere with her acting career; no it was not Oscar worthy, but for a budget of $360K and a film that make $360 mil back in the sixties...it couldn't have been that bad. I think you had to live then and remember all those evil biker movies to truly appreciate it. But worst movie ever...no, no,.

reply

Of course it's bad, but it's a GOOD bad film. Classic. Unlike the dozens, if not hundreds of films that are so dreadful no one even thinks about them anymore. Ain't gettin played on TCM, are they?

reply

Another dumb OP that thinks any random movie they didn't like is the 'worst film ever' (one of the most overused topic titles on imdb ever).

Not even close. Not even in my bottom 100 films list were I to make one. You must not watch many movies or are maybe just extremely fortunate, but more likely watch just mostly well-known/popular movies (and I can name a few of those much worse than this film). There are so many truly awful films out there and while this isn't a great film even by cult classic standards and has a few annoying 'idiot plot moments', it's still better than a lot of crap out there.

Hey Math...It is playing on TCM right now!

I saw it last night on TCM ! I had never seen a Billy Jack movie, and I was astonished to see a biker flick on regular (cable) TV. It was pretty fair (in a good way :-) )

Delicately phrased question: Does anyone know how much was cut from the original ? I think you know what I mean.

Horrid? Why? It wasn't a brilliant movie but I wouldn't call it horrid...are we talking about the same film as this was the first Billy Jack of the series,

Exactly, I'm tired of every message board someone has to say "worst movie ever." This just annoys me to no ends, as there's no such thing, unless at the end of that you put IMO, because almost every movie, even horrible ones will find some fans. If you don't enjoy the movie, that is your opinion, but state that it is your opinion and not some fact, because if you don't you're bound to be bombarded with responses from fans of the movie.

I had never seen this, although I was certainly aware of Billy Jack, having been an adolescent in the early 70s. I can't remember seeing any of these except parts of them on TV way back when. This one I don't think was ever shown or if it was, I'm sure it was so heavily censored it wouldn't have been understandable.

I have to say I stayed up very late watching TCM so that I could see Billy Jack kick ass! I even let out a couple of whoops!

As a Lost In Space (the classic TV series) fan, there is a 'hippie-space-biker' episode from this year which must have been based on this film - it's called "Collision of the Planets" look it up here on imdb.com it featured a young Daniel J. Travanti

See, I honestly don't know whether this is the worst art film I've ever seen, or the smartest B-film. Either way, it has the feel of Cannes, in the sense that the editing, cinematography, and dialogue are all unorthodox.

There were scenes like the almost-rape that were creepy in their softness, and there were characters (like the Horoscope Guy) who add to the dark humor.

For the first time in my life, I really don't know if I like this film or not. Either way, I was definitely intrigued.

reply

It was campy but it in a good wy so I didnt think it was all that but Im not sure what movies youve seen but this was not a bad one.

reply

I don't know, this one might just fill the bill. I'm 50 minutes in and this is horrid. Direction, editing, writing and acting are all absolutely terrible. The first scene, where the kid in the VW is talking trash to the biker and then just stands thee as they knock the crap out of him, is awful and it's just getting worse. The only redeeming value is showing 1967. I was nine.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

No, "horrid" was the next flick in TCM's lineup - "The Wild Angels" with Peter Fonda, Nancy Sinatra, Bruce Dern and M.J. Pollard.Great scenes like Peter beating the snot out of a minister, dragging a dead Dern from his coffin to enjoy his own party/funeral service (replaced in coffin by the unconscious minister) and a general orgy in the church said funeral service/orgy is being held in. Henry and Frank must have been SO proud ! In response to the ministers eulogy of Derns character, Fonda utters some of the most mind numbing 60's drivel I've ever heard. I wanted to beat myself to death with a hammer while putting my foot through the TV screen - maybe with brain damage I could appreciate this POS of a movie. Oh, and the sound track...now where the hell is my hammer....? I'm sure more than one Angel vomited viewing the finished product.
"HORRID" is a very fitting word.

and they beat whats his face for less.

"Easy Rider" up next. The 60's...ughhhhh.....yes, this is a "Classic" but then again so is the Troggs' "Wild Thing"....SOB, I KNOW that hammers around here somewhere !! SHARON !!

I got such a kick out of this movie! For those of you who have seen the other Billy Jack movies, how do they compare?

If was not as good as the second! It was the second best, loved watching him thump the bikies! Although it did do well at the box office though!

I don't know if I'd call it the worst movie ever, but I hated it myself. I stayed up to watch it because I actually liked the other Billy Jack movies in that "they're so bad they're funny" kind of way, but it just didn't do it for me at all. I watched it all the way through thinking it had to get better (because our TV guide gave it 3 stars, and we know they never lie, ha!). But after it was over my husband and I just stared at each other in disbelief and felt like we had stayed up late for no good reason. I guess it just wasn't our cup of tea, so to speak. I know there are plenty of fans that think it's the greatest, but not me. I don't mind cheesy, fun dialog and bad acting, but I draw the line at boredom, and boredom is what I felt during this movie. Sorry!

Fun to watch. Young girls in bikinis everywhere, but that was important for delivering the film's message. Biker gangs are bad.
