This needs to be available on DVD!

For those of you who like Jerry Lewis comedies, this one ranks up there with my favorites, "The Errand Boy" and the classic "The Nutty Professor." Jerry's in his game playing the ignorant/innocent victim and in disguise as Gerald Clamson, a kind of clone of his Julius Kelp/Nutty Professor character. But what I think makes this film is the supporting cast of noteable 60's comics like Charlie Callus, Buddy Lester and Leonard Stone. Why hasn't this come out on DVD like the other recent releases of JL comedies?

Yes! I'd pay any price to see "The Big Mouth" on DVD !!! ----- One reason I love this Jerry Lewis movie, as you said is the supporting cast, Harold Stone, Susan Bay, Del Moore, Paul Lambert, Buddy Lester, and especially Charlie Callis! As the gang catches Gerald in the pearl shop, Callis blurts out (after he freaks out), "I thinka, I thinka he left, I thinka, I thinka he left!!!!" And then the gang chases Gerald all over Sea World. :) ----- When I visited Sea World many years ago I enjoyed the fact that I could visit the very site where "The Big Mouth" was filmed!

If I remember correctly, I ordered this movie on DVD from Amazon.com, but I'm not sure, because I've had it for a while. You might try that. I love my Jerry.

It's really hard to fathom why ANY Jerry Lewis movie isn't on DVD by now. (Except, of course, The Day The Clown Cried. And that's only because Jerry himself is standing in the way. But that's another discussion.)

As a person, Lewis is definitely questionable. But as a comic auteur, he is indisputable. Even his less famous movies need to be made available. On Netflix, I've seen Lewis films I've never even heard of.

I have this on VHS, on a shelf with six other VHS tapes that have never been released on DVD. It is a shelf of both pride and shame. Pride to own, but shameful to be excluded from DVD.

Perhaps this Honorary Oscar might help remind people of Jerry's work, and get interest going for The Big Mouth.

Hey, how about a petition? I'd start one myself, but I don't really know how. But I'll be right there to sign it.

Yesterday Turner Classic Movies aired "The Big Mouth" at 3 PM PST. I programed my DVD timer recorder for it and I just got home from work and am watching the movie right now. ----- Once I finalize the DVD disc I'll watch the movie again in my new Blu-ray player. I hope to see the film in, as almost as possible, motion picture quality as there can be for now, because Blu-ray enhances regular DVD a little bit. ----- But like all of you IMDb members who love the movie I'd still pay top dollar get the movie on DVD, or better yet on Blu-ray. ---------- ------ Rusty
