Scariest thing in this movie...

... Is the horrible clown portrait hanging in a trailer that Joan burns some papers in. Who would ever paint such a disturbing portrait of two clown heads smiling in their awful evil way. Scared me more than anything else in this film. I hope they burned that prop with fire after filming.

...Scary #2: No matter how hard she tries, Monica Rivers (Joan) always manages to have lighting strategically casting a shadowing over her neck -- kinda like how Barbra Streisand always wears turtlenecks.

reply

...Scary #3: Monica/Joan strutting around in that leotard and fishnets at age 62.

reply

---Scary #4: That braided bun on Joan's head eerily looking like a Kaiser Roll.

reply

--Scary #5: A man in silver lamé pants.

...Scary #6: Joan Crawford YET AGAIN having her DAUGHTER going bananas on her and betraying her!!! Mildred Pierce! Strait-Jacket! Berserk! OH JOAN!

reply

Scary #7: Live Imitates Art...Joan's own daughter betrays her and writes the infamous "Mommie Dearest"!!

reply

The scariest for me is the unrealistic affair between her and Frank. Lol

reply

Yeah, that one gave me nightmares, too.

reply

They.should have given Diana Dors the lead- more realistic.

Scary #8 - Joan playing at sexy in that 60s shoulder-length fall and negligee, all the while blowing her cigarette smoke into Ty Hardin's beautiful face. Scary, funny, and painful to watch.
