Marcel was very strange and evil looking

I reckon for the next great villain in a movie, they should model him on Marcel from this movie. You know how Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men had that unique/creepy look which highly contributed to his amazing portrayal of a villain? I think if you modeled a character on Marcel's look you'd immediately get people's attention. The only problem is the actor would also have to be good and act menacing, like Bardem in NCFOM. But his look certainly played a big part and is what made it such an iconic performance.

Did Marcel inspire Sid Vicious ?

I have the same impression. Malcolm McLaren was sufficiently culturally literate to have made the connection. I don't see the absence of walking stick being significant, could have been edited out of the costume to avoid making unwanted reference to A Clockwork Orange
