Rosalba Rating

A rare comedy from Jess Franco is of note for a couple reasons. One is the comedy is intentional and it works, the movie is a spy spoof that really gets it right. So that in itself is a major triumph for Uncle Jess.
Additionally, an of even higherimportance to me eyes, is that LUCKY marks the initial colaboration between Spanish filmaking maverick Franco and Italian film goddess Rosalba Neri. Her small role here is pivotal to the plot and she is given a good part that shows her off to exceptional advantage. Franco really had an eye for unique and beautiful actresses, and he would hire Rosalba several more times and really put on the map when he used her talents in 99 WOMEN.
