I collect and mostly listen to film scores, and I can say Luis Bacalov's score for this movie is one of the most beautiful and original I've ever heard. The main theme, played during the opening credits, is the sound of melancholy. And the 'Samba' theme is wonderfully upbeat.

Funny, I'm not even a big fan of his scores. I loved Il Postino but everything else has left me indifferent. I never imagined he had something like this in him.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
