Regretful story - when Speed Racer came to America, those in charge of such things decided that the show was too intense for children so they had some episodes altered.

Yeah.

You can see some of the changes on youtube.

In Mahha GoGoGo, Trixie drops a bomb, causing the bad guys crash off a cliff.

But, in Speed Racer, she drops a "smoke bomb", causing them to "stop".
