Could it not be cool if one of the major tv networks in Germany suddently got the idea of creating a next generation tv-show about the adventures of a new starship Orion, maybe a show that takes place 40 years after the Orion 8 ?

They could make Cliff Allister McLane (Dietmar Schönherr) an Admiral who sends the brand new Orion on its first mission in to space.

I really don't trust any German TV network to come up with a quality continuation of this series. It would probably be either a parody ala Der WiXXer with the usual "comedians" or just a bad show.

They should leave it alone. If anything, think up something else and make a new sci-fi series that has nothing to do with an existing franchise.
