David Susskind

Had no idea that his career encompassed so much producing, grew up knowing him as the host of his talk show "Open End" (AKA "The David Susskind Show") Probably safe to say that most have seen at least one episode featuring Mel Brooks who chewed up the scenery like Mothra on crack (said with great affection of Mel)

Imagine my surprise to see that he produced and even co-wrote the majority of this series. That accounts for the genuine NYC feel.
