DVD/Video Mr. Terrific

Any ideas of how one would get a hold of an episode or 2 of the show? I have emailed CBS about it. Will post when I get an answer. Any other ideas?

CBS broadcast the show, but they do not control the rights. The people that control the rights are Universal Media. Look at my other entry for their address and people in charge.

Hi there,
This show is going to be released on 17, July, 2009 here in Germany.
The German title is:
"Immer, wenn er Pillen nahn"
The information on amazon.de says it will be in both German and English languages. Excellent price at amazon.de.
I have never heard of the show but it does sound interesting. I have always liked John McGiver in films or the odd tv show I have seen.

Thanks for the info. I will be ordering it through Amazon.de, but once I select the item, which "button" do I select to tell them to send it via air mail to my address here in the USA? Is there anything else I should do once that is done? Unfortunately, I do not read, write, or speak German. Thank you for your assistance!

The German version is available on www.amazon.co.uk

I just purchased it through the British ebay site which
is easy to navigate since it's in English instead of
German.

It took 2 1/2 weeks to arrive. The second option on
the menu is English which is how I watch the show on
my all regions player since it's a Region 2 release.
It looks fine, obviously from an unfaded 35mm source.
The only flaw is that the episide title and the series
title are in German letters. Otherwise it's the same
that was broadcast in the US back in 1966/67.

The show isn't as outrageous as "Captain Nice" since that
show had Buck Henry's cultural satire incorporated into the
scripts.

However, it's as funny as "Gilligan's Island"
and the show is actually better than I remember it
as an adolescent. I recomend it to 'Baby Boomers'
who like this type of campy sitcom humor.

I'm able to recall every theme song of the shows I saw
as a child including the intros to "It's About Time",
"My Mother the Car" and "The Ugliest Girl in Town".
They seemed to have left an impression on me greater
than anything I learned in school.

Was this show a hit in Germany? What did the Germans think of this show?

reply

It was obviously a big hit, because a 2009 Austrian movie, Contact High, feature a scene similar to the power pill scene in it as a homage.
