Kaye' imitation of a British accent.

I noticed this when re-watching it. She seems to be imitating the very funny Joyce Grenfell, the comical character actress who was known for her cheery but uppercrust characters who was a very popular presence in Ealing comedies and did a lot of sketch type stage shows. There's a touch of "ch" in practically every word she speaks, and while her nose seems to be in the air while speaking with her chin pointed outward, it's not all about snobbery, perhaps more about good breeding combined with eccentric ways of thinking. There's nothing malicious in Kaye's impression; It seems to be an affectionate take on the type of characters Joyce played and seemed to be doing an impression of herself.

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."
