Richard Deacon
He to me didn't seem to fit well with the cast. I don't think he was the right choice for the second Roger.

shareYou are right. He was dismal in the role where Roger C. Carmel brought much humor and vitality to it. Arnaz was a fool not to give Carmel his contracted raise for Season Two. Carmel was equally foolish to get himself blacklisted from network television for not playing ball with NBC. It was the audience who were cheated. Desi Arnaz should have looked harder to find a more suitable replacement than Deacon who was bland and never funny.
shareI've loved everything I'd seen Richard Deacon in ever since I can remember. I was often jealous of his voice, the way he carried himself - YET...I felt a loss when I saw reruns in the 70s and there was no Roger C Carmel - he had a great look and demeanor about him and I really missed him when Richard Deacon stepped in.
Two great TV actors, one awkward situation
I've just become aware of it being on DVD within the last hour - and have already ordered it from my local library. I can't wait to see this show again.
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
