Remake Casting!

Hey guys,

If there were to be a TV remake of this show, who would you cast?

reply

This show would only work in the "Classic TV" eras of the 1950s and 1960s, back when corny was considered cute.

Today though, corny is code for stupid, and the current TV audience is much too cynical to appreciate that kind of humor in modern TV. They are forgiving of it (to a certain degree) in past programs, but that's because those were made for a different type of audience, by the sort of people who no longer exist.

Classic shows like this only seem such because of classic actors who brought it to life, and the time in which it was made (a time when that style actually existed). Trying to pull it off in today's cynical, sarcastic, bitter, reactionary world would seem fake as heck and it would be cancelled almost immediately.

Plus, I doubt if anyone today could equal Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard together.

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

Oh GOD don't even think of it. There's absolutely no one out there who could be another Eve Arden or Kaye Ballard - the husbands might be a little easier to cast - Billy Gardelli or Mark Addy might be good...OH YEAH! IT JUST HITS ME - Joel Murray - VERY underrated character actor. Mark Addy's name made me think of "Fitz" on Still Standing.

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
