She is just a big time overactor. I know it is not so much about the newlyweds , but they were irrelevant anyway. Such a shame though because Eve Arden was awesome as she was in OUR MISS BROOKS... Incidentally there was great acting all the way through in that show.
shareNo way - Kaye Ballard was fantastic. I'm watching it now for the first time in about 20 to 30 years and it's great. I borrowed the set from the library and I think I'm going to get my own copy.

I have to think Desi Arnaz wanted her to play the character that way, but she was also irritating on The Doris Day Show. I think a lot of it was that her natural speaking voice was so loud.
