Original Invaders Redone?

Would you like to see the original Invaders concept return? either in a movie? or perhaps a series on TV? I know this was discussed but never done. I don't count the 1995 version, because it gets too far off the original series feel for me.
If yes , how would you like to see it done? With today's tech, the effects would be killer. But you still need a good story. Would it work now?
