The Guns of Johnny Rondo
Although I've never read any such info regarding this episode,this struck me as a possible pilot/spin-off for its own weekly series.
shareInspire just re-ran this episode. I thought the same thing about a spinoff idea. Even had a "Theme song" sung through the entire episode.

I still remember the song after all these years! It was a great episode!!
I hated it -- and using that totally anachronistic song, if made into a series it would have been around 15 years out of date.

I agree with gary on this one. As one person put it in a review on IMDb, the song was jarring in the beginning and at the end when played just before the High Chaparrel theme song.

It's a bit hard to forget that song when it played every 5 minutes throughout the episode!
I just watched it earlier and it's still going though my skull non stop!
Had this been turned into a weekly series, I imagine it would have been more or less a rehash of The Rifleman. Of course, the rifle would have been replaced by a six shooter.
