Whither George on DVD?

if pieces of crap like "Speed Racer" can be issued on DVD, why not "George Of The Jungle", easily one of the funniest cartoons ever.

Does anyone have any info on this?

I wish. I loved this show, and would put it at the top of my "must purchase" list.

Bullwinkle and other Jay Ward titles currently have DVDs in print on the Classic Media label. The Classic Media website lists George of the Jungle as being 'part of their family', but lists nothing in the way of upcoming releases.

It would seem that it's a matter of time (& demand) before they get around to it. Unless there's some hitch holding things up? A licensing problem interfering with Disney's movie franchise, perhaps?

I want the complete original animated George on DVD, and would expect that to include Super Chicken & Tom Swift, of course.

Boxset, please. I'm ready!

They seem to release every lame TV show on DVD but not this true classic. I 5 year old and I love watching these on our videotapes, but they are wearing out, and we only have a couple of shows.

How can the public influence a company to do a boxset. They did with Rocky & Bullwinkle, and I would assume those went well.

reply

not to be nit-pick'n but it's "Tom Slick" not Swift.

this show is going to be release on feb 11, 2008 on 2 dvd

Today's the day! Complete with Tom Slick and Super Chicken! Buk! Buk! Buk! Buk!

Just watched the first episode and was just as funny as I remembered it. George's theme song has got to be one of the catchest in TV history. Now if they would just release the rest of Rocky and Bullwinkle everything will be right in the world.

WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!

Us poor souls in Australia want a copy too.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the production company or distributor of George so I can begin hassling them.

Many thanks in anticipation.
