The first season of the Flying Nun tv series will be released on DVD on March 21st 2006. It is already available for pre order in most places. If you are just a Sally Field fan in general, Gidget, the entire series is being released on DVD the same day. Now, there are times when, due to circumstance, they have to back up the release date for some reason, at least at this date it is set for release in March.

shareI started checking out the season one DVD set today. It's sweet, nostaglic fun!
The FX shots of Bertrille flying look almost as good as those used in Superman The Movie(1978). I like Sally Field a lot. With her appealing sense of grace, she was well cast as Sister Bertrille. Even in a bad film like Beyond the Poseidon Adventure, Field held her own. I hope Hollywood doesn't bastardize The Flying Nun with some dopey, parody of a parody feature film(a la Inspector Gadget, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Honeymooners, Bewitched, etc.)!
I can see why TFN has a cult following.
