The Galaxy Trio was stupid...

especially those stupid notches on the collars of their costumes. GT is interesting mid-60s HB superhero animation though. GT is by far HB`s dumbest superhero creations. A pity because Birdman is far superior to Space Ghost and is on a par with The Herculoids. Birdman seems a little bit more down to business than Space Ghost. He doesn`t need that damn eagle though anymore than Space Ghost needs Jan & Jace and that damn monkey.

So what I told you was true... From a certain point of view

Actually the whole show (Birdman & GT) was pretty lame and goofy, particularly the plots, the villians and their weapons and henchmen, but for me that's what makes the show so oddly appealing. I think this is the first cartoon series that could truly be regarded as "cult" and "camp" in much the same way as "Robot Monster" and "Plan Nine from Outer Space".

...and your suffering will be legendary even in Hell!!

It's definitely not a cult classic as those two movies you mentioned. The series is still a classic and I'm sure many people who have grown up with it
still likes it. Of course, it's understandable that modern day audiences would call it "lame" and "goofy" but they need to understand that this is an old school, 60s superhero cartoon series so it's obviously outdated now but back then, it was something fun to watch as a kid.

I agree that it was no classic in terms of production, writing and artwork, in fact I'd say it was third rate, even for the 60's (compared to a great series like 'The Herculoids'). However though, I was trying to establish a point of reference for the OP to understand the attraction of this cartoon by loosely comparing it to the badness of 'Plan 9' and 'RM'.

The creators/producers of 'Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law' certainly recognized the badness/lameness/campiness factor of 'Birdman and The Galaxy Trio' when they created their show based on the Birdman character.

I'm a fan of 'BM & GT' and it definitely has cult appeal as far as I'm concerned...

Those movies were known for their badness since the start. I don't think Birdman was in that same category.

Well, I'm sure that most kids back in the mid 60's didn't see Birdman and The Galaxy Trio as being bad, but in hindsight, as an adult, it is very entertainingly bad today.

Or maybe some people just always prefer their super heroes beating up and blasting bad guys having fun.

I know some 2010 super hero cartoon nerds would have a heart attack if you call this entertaining but plenty of people enjoyed it then and enjoy it now.

I refuse to argue on IMDB until the general populous actually uses their brains

Well, if you re-read my comment you'll notice that I did say it was "entertainingly bad".

Maybe you should be the one re-reading? Since i can't speak for the other guy but my retort was aimed at you making some kind of broad stroke that the appeal of the show deserves the word "bad" in it at all. Since two of us in this thread (maybe 3) find this show entertaining as it is.

Since the way some of your posts are phrased would lead us to think you are not open to others disagreeing with you on it being "entertainingly bad". Which might be just bad wording, but it certainly lead two separate users to pretty much give you the same kind of response which got nowhere but you harping on about your opinion.

Gamefaqs has a far worse population than IMDB

Ohh my, my!! But aren't we being touchy here (and ya know, just a bit catty, too, I might add). Hmm...perhaps I struck a nerve somewhere. Did you have a really crappy day? Or maybe you should try switching to the decaf. Whatever the case may be, it's obvious that you need to just lay down and take a long nap.

Well, Ed Wood didn't know he was making bad movies. He was actually convinced he was making good, relevant films.
