Every time I see this film, I am struck by what a beautiful song this is, and how well it is used within the movie. Quite a shame it didn't earn the Oscar nomination it deserved, or a higher position on the pop chart (topped out at #15 in early 1967 on Billboard).
To me, it should've been a bigger pop hit AND an Oscar nominee...aw hell, make that an Oscar winner!

My brother still kids me because I used to think this song was by Pink Floyd. Great song, though, one of Lovin' Spoonful's best.
