Nazi flags, helmets, medallions, etc.,

Are there any biker movies that explain the appeal of Nazi paraphernalia?

reply

I can't think of any biker films that explain it, but in the 1980 film "The Formula" there's a brief strip club scene (somewhere in Europe, I think) where Nazi imagery is used as a backdrop for the dancers, fittingly showing how yesterday's unspeakable horrors are forgotten by the next generation and utilized for entertainment, recreation or edgy apparel.

To tick people off, and make a statement about being bad.

Were they neo-Nazis?

reply

No, they are 60s bikers...the 1%ers that have constructed their own society way outside the mainstream. The only rule in their society is there are no rules. Anything goes. Including glorifying Nazis. They don't care if you are offended. In fact, they are offended if you are NOT offended to be honest.

I'm sure they had plenty of rules , just theirs not societys

The "Establishment", "The Man", and basically everyone middle aged or older had been involved or actually fought in WW2. What better way to offend them then rubbing their enemy's symbols in their faces. When the punk rock music movement started in England in the late '70s they did the same thing. At the time there was no need for an explanation, everyone basically knew what they meant.

In those days it was just to shock the straights, the normals, the citizens. Some surfers did it too.

They sucked his brains out!
