I agree that this is very original and funny. It is one of two Woody Allen films
I acutally enjoy (Mighty Aphrodite is the other). All the egg-salad talk put in
this film kept me laughing through the whole thing

I like it. Very original. It was less funny during the last third but picked itself up again at the end.

The idea was used again by the movie "Kung Pow - Enter the fist".

They also used an old japanese film as basis to a nonsense comedy. Some scenes used new actors (special effects). Worth a view.

Have you seen any of his other pre-ANNIE HALL movies? (EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX, BANANAS, TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, SLEEPER) They're just flat-out funny comedies like this one.

while i generally prefer mid-period allen movies, i think this is his most purely just funny movie other then maybe "love and death".

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist used footage from a CHINESE film made in Hong Kong...or Taiwan! The Japanese and the Chinese are two different races of people(like the Dutch and the Germans)! The Japanese and Chinese have killed each other in wars!

The scene where Kumi Mizuno takes a shower(with frosted glass to fudge out the nudity)was erotic! Although, the scene goes for laughs as she casually ignores the fact two guys are brawling in the same room! LOL!

This may open up a can of worms, but the Japanese and the Chinese are both of the Asian race, while most Dutch and Germans are both white. It's the nationality that's different.

There's no "I" in team, but there is an "m" and an "e."

I think it is brilliant; I always laugh out loud.

But the sound quality seems a little low. I have trouble hearing some of the lines. Perhaps it is because I am not a yank. The only upside of that is that there is always some new joke for me to hear.
