Why aren't the dachshunds or Brutus credited?

Because the movie is pretty much about them, Toto and other animals are credited.

They bit a waiter at a Screen Actors Guild luncheon, and as punishment they can only be listed as extras.

I don't know about Brutus, but some of the dachshunds were from a breeder in TX at the time, last name of Cheek. My mom's mother, prior to foster care, was contacted by Disney for this movie. =)

Early Disney movies didn't even ccredit all the smaller actors, nonetheless the animal actors!

Brutus starred in another Disney film (Trivia Section). Whomever added this film's information either didn't know their real names or didn't care. Are their names in the movie's credits?

Well, first, this film was made in an era when on-screen credit of animal "actors" wasn't necessary. Second, there were 3 different Great Danes who "played"(adult)Brutus in this film, and at least 10 different Dachshunds. Those would've made the end credits for JUST the Canine actors, longer than the credits for the humans!
