I dunno, I don't think "The Hawks and the Sparrows" it's AS good and AS iconoclastic AS other works by Pasolini. Neither as powerful and well-rounded as Accatone or Mamma Roma, neither as crude and "odd" as Salò.

IMO this film has its place amongst the "good" works by Pasolini but is far behind from his most controversial and interesting films.

7/10

Possibly his most humorous, however!

I agree with Kinematico. This is quite a good film, especially if you like surrealist humour, but it's whimsy is not successful entirely. Also in terms of humour I think Salo is more successful at being funny, even if the humour is dangerous.

Although not great, I found it very good and consider it one of his best and gave it 7/10. It was especially nice to see one of his films that was so abundant with humor.
