shareIf you're in the US, Netflix has it. I'm dropping the disc I watched (no scratches on it) in the mailbox today.
I don't know if Tokyo Drifter even rises to the level of pretentious. By any definition of story--plot, characterization, relationships, motivation, continuity, any semblance of why one action follows another--it's crap. The acting is forgettable. The staging of the fight scenes is pathetic.
But I imagine that a trailer of this film could be fabulous--great sets and costumes and evocative Japanese Torch songs. If this movie were cut down to music video length, it'd be stunning.
