Does anyone know the French Quarter address?

Was wondering if this was shot in a courtyard on Royal St.

reply

No, it was actually shot in a courtyard on Dumaine between Bourbon and Dauphine - not sure which one but it's on the lower side of the street.

816 Dumaine, on the same side of the St as Lafitte's in Exile. The Clover Grill and the Washingwell are still there as well. I lived in the 700 block for a few years. I loved seeing the Quarter in the 60's before it became a tourists mecca. There is a scene where Alva was watching a little black kid tap dance. That was the corner of St. Phillip and Chartres. It was a business, United Paper. The building next to me had Uneeda Biscuits painted on it. You can still see it today. Other movies that has some great classic French Quarter shots were The Cincinnati Kid ('65), Hard Times ('84), King Creole ('58), Walk on the Wild Side ('62) and Panic in the Streets ('50). Easy Riders Mardi Gras scenes were shot during Carnival of '68. There used to be a little bar on Bourbon St called The Intellect. It had a sign that was one big eye. Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper were seen there after shooting many nights.
