Old Sydeny.

I recently bought the DVD for a family member. I think I will borrow it from them and watch the movie now. I can’t wait to see what Sydney looked like many years ago.

Actually, are there any films out there that do predominantly feature Sydney’s old buildings?

There are good shots of the 'skyscrapers' of Martin Place in 'Dad and Dave Come to Town'.

Don't know which was made first but there are some great shots of old Sydney in Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, with John Mills and Ernest Borgnine.

The bar scene with Walter Chiari and Jack Allen where Nino was confused about the "shout"
was shot in the Marble Bar, which was then the saloon bar of Adams Hotel in Pitt Street.

Years later they dismantled the Marble Bar and reassembled it in the Sydney Hilton in George Street as a tourist trap where drinks cost a fortune.
