U.S. release title

I remember the poster for this film when it was first released in the U.S. sometime in the late 1960s. It played at one of my local theaters. The title on the poster was "The Brute and the Beast." I never heard of the "Massacre Time" title until I picked the film up on bootleg VHS from a sidewalk vendor in the East Village (Manhattan) sometime in the late 1990s, 30 years later.
