Just an observation.

Yeah? And risk getting executed for something he was innocent of? Lt. Collins, the commander of the San Pablo, was right to not hand him over, even if Collins is doing it for the wrong reasons ("you only matter now as a symbol of your country", as opposed to believing he's innocent).
