OMG so annoying!

In my opinion, this movie is possibly the most annoying that I have ever seen in my life. I had to sit through the entire thing with my parents, and most of the time I was thinking "what the *beep* is this? Am I tripping or something?" In hope of getting me to watch it with them, my parents told me that it is kind of like Monty Python. That is an incredible insult to Monty Python. As random as Monty Python is, it is actually funny, unlike this contrived piece of *beep*

The movie started out OK, but after about the first hour I was getting really pissed off, because I couldn't make any sense of what the hell was going on. Once it was over, my mom said "yeah, now I understand why I never liked this movie as a kid."

"I think old people should have rights, grandpa, I just don't want to die."

You were tripping, but you didn't know it.
Remember this was made in 1966 and released in 67

Well it's a film from the sixties and it's lame to criticize it for nonsensical reasons.

If this movie were released today, there would probably be tons of ignorant pricks like you bashing it.

We all deserve to die. Even you, Mrs. Lovett, even I.

You clearly did not understand the message of the film. But unfortunately, too many people...like Americans...need the messages of the films they see plainly spelled out to them. The movie is a commentary on the insanity of war. It was made as a protest about Vietnam.

You are smart enough to understand the insanity of war, but not smart enough to not categorize an entire country's worth of people into one category. No thanks.

The "message" of the movie is clear in under 15 minutes Euro-snob. It's not possible to miss it, because the creators have no other ideas to occupy the foreground. The entire cast - acting cutesy - is stuck in a holding pattern. The 'comedy' is juvenile. This movie is irritating beyond belief. 'King of Hearts' might actually be worse than 'Godspell,' and that's saying something.

Could not believe how horrible it was as I watched every twee, cloying, trite minute of it today.

I'm not an American, but I find your post to be, not only offensive, but misinformed as well. When this film was released in Europe, it did poorly at the box office and it wasn't well-received by critics. However, when it was released in the U.S. a year later, it found its audience and gained cult status because of its commentary on the insanity of war. It was the American audience who "got" this film in the first place.
