I actually think you can cut out a lot of the middle of the movie, and leave it with the beginning and the powerful ending and the movie will probably still work equally well... Thoughts?
The middle part is kind of repetitive and boring in my opinion.

i hate to agree with you, but i have to agree with you.
i showed this flic to my sons when i thought they were ready, and they were. but we all were looking around in the middle sections.
yes they 'got' the flic, and they will remember it, etc, etc.
but there are parts in the middle that could be re-edited.

I loved the beginning and especially loved the ending. As for the middle, not so much. But I found this very whimsical and entertaining throughout, even though it sags a big.
shareThe beginning and ending aren't so great either, though the last two scenes are charming and sort of reward you for sticking with it. I agree the middle is a real patience-tester above and beyond the rest. A lot of tired nonsequitur stuff posing as absurdist humor and farce. I remembered this film being much fresher; I must be getting old.
